Happy International Day of Happiness! Dogs can teach us a lot about how to be happy. Here’s what dogs have to say about happiness:
Take lots of walks
Studies show that walking improves your mood, especially on a sunny day (sunshine = Vitamin D = happiness!)
Keep good company
Friends and family are the key to happiness, science says so! Spend your time with happy people and the happiness will spread.
Appreciate the little things
Just like how dogs appreciate the smallest things, like getting a new toy or enjoying a favourite treat, we need to learn to appreciate the small things in life that bring us joy.
Don’t be afraid to meet new people and try new things
The purpose of life is to live it, after all. “A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions” – Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr
Be in the moment
Being mindful is one of the best ways to avoid a low mood. Focus on the now, and worries about the past and future will fade.
Don’t forget play time
Take regular breaks from your work and daily routine to do something you really enjoy.
Love unconditionally
Dogs don’t care what you look like or what you wear, they just love you for being you!
Never give up
No matter how ill, old or frail a dog is, chances are they will still wag their tail and greet you with a smile. A dog knows not to give up.
Spend quality time with your happy four-legged friend at the Dog Walking Field.
